AP reports: Gov. Rick Perry has apologized for inviting a messianic Jewish leader to represent the Jewish faith at a bill signing where the man delivered a prayer in the name of Jesus.
Full story.
We don’t know which it more disturbing—the fact that a messianic meshuggeneh was mistaken for a true Jew or that the state of Texas now limits a woman’s right to choose (a distinctively right-wing Christian agenda.)
No matter what everyone’s personal opinion is, the Jews have enough tsuris without getting into that kind of legislation. Right???

This is inexcusable and just plainly horrible! I’m glad I dont live in Texas, but I feel for the Jews who do. Both the Messianic Jew and the limit on a woman’s right to choose are bad news.
This is just plain ignorance.
What is totally inexcusable is the fact that so many Jews in Texas voted for this Idiot and Bush. I guess it must be the heat that has cooked the TX Jews brains. And I live in Texas. Sad, Very Sad.
I know some Jews who live in my building who voted for Bush stricly on the merits of him being a strong ally of Israel. It’s not the heat, its just that they have “blinders” on that make them focus just on Isreal and some of the other issues take a back seat. The results are evident.
He looks like Jefferson (Marcy’s 2nd Husband) from Married with Children.
Friend of Isreal or not, I’m not voting for Jesus freaks. Barbara Boxer is the coolest Jew on Capitol Hill.
