What’s your point, Jessica? Did you actually read Waxman’s article? HE says that what Abramoff did constitutes chillul Hashem. He says nothing sympathetic, he just gives a scholarly Jewish point of view. What bothers you more – that Abramoff is a Jew who did something deplorable, or that R’Waxman had the knowledge and scholarship to dicuss Abramoff’s behavior from a well-informed Jewish perspective? C’mon Jessica – it’s not like R’Waxman is Orthodox or anything. It’s not like he comes from a P.O.V. all that different from your own. Or does it bother you that other people have the chops to discuss these things (like talmud)and deep-down, you know that you ought to know more than you do.

I posted Waxman’s article BECAUSE I agreed with it and obviously, since the man’s a rabbi, has a much deeper and articulate view of the Talmud than I do.
